We've been many times in the past ,and decided to visit the lakes and booked in at the Hawksmoor, so glad we did.A warm welcome greeted us and were impressed with the room decor and quality of the furnishings ,from the shower ,fridge and blackout curtains. In the morning a hot tasty breakfast was served with produce locally sourced .A selection of DVD's are also available to borrow ,free,.Nothing is to much trouble, and looking forward to renewing our love of the Lakes, and the Hawskmoor, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for the Hawksmoor , we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay here. We sent two back for further cooking and the well done one still was pinkish. My Partner and I have recently returned from the Hawksmoor for the third time and this is my 2nd review of the establishment since my last one in 2014 as my memory got the better of me on the previous trip.As on my two previous visits this guesthouse continues in its excellence. I’d prebooked a table at 10.30am which admittedly was cutting it fine for last breakfast orders but I did notice that other guests arrived after me and were able to order from the breakfast menu so I’m not sure how strict Hawksmoor enforce this rule. 2008-2020 © Zomato™ Pvt Ltd. A huge restaurant like this should always have som GF bread, even if it's at the bottom of the freezer ! Around the sides, there were booths which are ideal for larger parties and we were fortunate to be seated in one of these booths looking out across the restaurant. Always share the breakfast for two and have to say that it is consistently brilliant. We always appreciate our guests giving us constructive feedback. They messed up two of the orders completely, one was only a case of removing the eggs but the other needed cooking from scratch. Spread it thickly on buttered toast. Breakfast of Champions at Hawksmoor Guildhall It takes a lot of love and curiosity to get me out of my bed and on the tube at 7am on a Monday morning. It's only available Monday to Friday and it's only served at the Guildhall branch and it's literally ah-mah-zing! First time visiting the lakes in a long time and was more than happy with our choice of place to stay. Many thanks to all staff. One of us had ordered steak well done (I know! Philipa and Trevor run a quality establishment and couldn't have been more welcoming. Having never been to Hawsmoor before and hearing people rave about it I had high hopes. I really loved the bacon which was totally next level compared to most breakfasts I’ve had – instead of a couple slices of bacon, you get a whole smoked bacon chop. When we ordered, the waiter must've put a note that it was for 3 persons because we got portions for 3! As it was a treat and a friday and because they were called anti-fogmatics we started our breakfast with a cocktail. First time visiting the lakes in a long time and was more than happy with our choice of place to stay. Mostly local ingredients are used and it shows. Food was absolutely brilliant and at a very fair price. Thanks againTrevor and Philippa. For what you get in terms of quality and portion size the cost is very good value. The staff are also to be mentioned as they are very courteous. "Thrillist" which recommended Hawksmoor Guildhall. Spread it thickly on buttered toast. We ordered freshly squeezed orange juice with our meal. We came to this place after reading a review for the Hawksmoor breakfast on another website. The breakfast juice isn’t as healthy as it sounds – it’s actually a sparkling shiraz which was surprisingly light – a perfect accompanist to the sharing breakfast and although I wouldn’t normally choose an alcoholic drink for breakfast, it’s a nice treat for a special occasion. But it's the way she likes it) and it was more like medium. We where on the ground floor but despite this the room and hotel in general was very quiet. Have you visited Hawksmoor before? Divine! Review: Breakfast at Hawksmoor, Guildhall | FOOD This post was written pre-covid Hawksmoor is a chain of steakhouses and although I’ve never actually visited for a steak dinner (it’s on the to-do list), I’ve visited Hawksmoor in Spitalfields for a roast dinner on a Sunday which left me feeling underwhelmed but I’ve always fancied going there for a spot of breakfast. Next time I visit, I think I’ll ask for them to swap out the bone marrow for hash browns because who doesn’t love hash browns. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day; the meal which kickstarts your metabolism and gets you going to face the rest of the day. But since there were 3 of us - my partner, myself and our boy. We're looking forward to hearing from you. The grilled bone marrow is to die for. The sausages were thick, juicy and a combination of pork, beef and mutton but I don’t think the black pudding added much to the dish. We look forward to seeing you again in the future. So lesson learnt, and if we come back we will make sure to let the server know to just serve the portion for 2. Thank you,Guildhall team. The breakfast for two is indeed the one to have!We hope to see you again soon. All the best, Guildhall team. The nearest station is Bank, right in the centre of the City of London and it’s just a short walk from here but outside the restaurant there aren’t many signs which left me confused thinking “is this it?” and “is it here?”. Onto mains, and we all ordered the steak and "triple-cooked" chips. The never ending supply of toast also struggled to keep up ! Review It is a dedicated reviews site that brings you first-hand, … One element that I really disliked was the grilled bone marrow – I’ve never tried this before but I just couldn’t get on with it, it tasted gelatinous and I’m not sure how it fits with a breakfast dish. This breakfast dish comes with gravy, yes gravy! For breakfast, think an enormous Full English (for 2 to share), Sausage & Egg HkMuffins, Bloody Marys and a host of other Anti-fogmatics, along with lots of options for people with smaller (and dare we say healthier) appetites. This is the version of our website addressed to speakers of English in the United States. Review tags are currently only available for English language reviews. Slow service as we had to keep requesting items ie toast , salt etc .Worst of all - no gluten free bread . This was our first visit to the Lake District and the choice to stay here couldn't have been better. Checked out the app. The room we had was spacious, with a huge bathroom with shower, bath and underfloor heating ( which was most welcome as the weather was tragic). The Hawksmoor breakfast, a take on the traditional Full English is absolutely huge, served in a large iron casserole style dish and it’s designed to be shared between two people (hats off to anyone who could finish this monstrosity on their own). You won't be disappointed. We are in the process of planning our next visit in August of this year which further cements our trust for an excellent time! At our Guildhall restaurant we aim to serve the best breakfast in London, whilst at the others the aim is the best Sunday roast in the country. Having never been to Hawsmoor before and hearing people rave about it I had high hopes. Old wives tales will tell you that you should be consuming about 20% of your daily calorie intake for breakfast. Zoom in to see updated info. You won’t be sorry. The portions are so big, sadly we couldn't make it to dessert. That’s a more unusual addition to a typical full English breakfast but I couldn’t get enough of it (and that’s saying something considering I’m not normally a bubble and squeak fan). What a great place to stay! Map updates are paused. Hi HeartEngland, Thanks for your lovely feedback. I didn’t need long with the menu as I already knew what I wanted before I’d even sat down – of course it had to be the Hawksmoor Breakfast for two to share (£40) given that this is the only restaurant in London you can get it at! Quite possibly the best full English in London, and a top notch Bloody Mary to boot. Spread the bone marrow on buttered toast. Hi Freedee, Thanks for your lovely feedback! Who cares if it was only 9am?
